15/10/2008

The 2007/8 Healthcare Commission’s annual health check has rated the Gloucestershire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust as delivering a ‘good’ quality of service for our users. The Trust was rated ‘excellent’ for ‘use of our resources’.”

These ratings reflect performance for the period between April 2007 and March 2008.

Gloucestershire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust was one of the first NHS Mental Health Trusts in England to meet the standards to become a Foundation Trust. The organisation changed its name in April 2008 and is now known as 2gether NHS Foundation Trust.

Sandra Betney Acting Chief Executive said “Of the 51 targets that were assessed, the Trust fully met all key areas of the national Core Standards of care within the NHS. This highlights the hard work and dedication of our staff in helping to deliver clinical effectiveness, safety and patient focus.”

A variety of methods are used to determine the rating including analysis of data and self-declaration from trusts including for example service user surveys. The Healthcare Commission also carry out targeted inspections.

Betney continued: “The Trust listens to comments provided by our service users and we value feedback on their individual experience. We will continue to implement changes that will help improve our users’ experience of our services.”
