Local People Wanted for Top Jobs in Mental Health Services

25/092007

Gloucestershire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health, substance misuse and learning disability services for all age groups across Gloucestershire.

The current Chair, Robert Maxwell, CVO, CBE has announced to the Trust Board and Council of Governors, that he will be resigning from his post as Chair, once a replacement has been found and is available to take over. Robert has been Chair of the Trust for the last five and a half years, and is keen to have fewer fixed commitments and spend more time with his family. Robert also feels that the right moment to make a change is when the organisation is strong and secure, and now is such a time for Gloucestershire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The Trust has gone through a period of great change and was delighted to be able to announce its success at becoming an NHS Foundation Trust on 1st July.

The Trust is now looking for a new Chair and for two Non-Executive Directors to join the Board.

Shaun Clee, Chief Executive, said “As a Foundation Trust we are committed to ensuring that the services we provide meet, not only best practice guidance, but are the first choice of the public we serve. We wish to form ever stronger relationships with our communities, providing people with a real say in the way we shape our services in the future. We welcome applications from anybody with a strong personal commitment to the NHS and who lives within the county boundary of Gloucestershire.”

For the role of Chair the Trust is looking for a local person with extensive leadership, motivational and communication skills and applicants should have experience of leading successful organisations in similar size and complexity.

For the role of Non-Executive Director the Trust is looking for local people with strategic business and financial skills and good team players. Again, experience at Board level is needed.

The Chair will receive £40,000 per annum and will be required to provide a time commitment equivalent to 2-3 days per week in order to ensure effective performance of the role. The Non-Executive Directors will receive a salary of £12, 000 per annum for approximately four days a month.

Further information about the posts and details of how to apply are available from www.saxbam.com/jobs using reference YGPA (for the role of Chair) or YGPB (for the role of Non-Executive Director), or by email or by telephone on 01483 409 713 (during office hours).

The closing date for applications is noon on 10 October 2007.
