Non-Executive Director appointed for Mental Health Trust

Gloucestershire Partnership NHS Trust, provider of specialist mental health, substance misuse and developmental disability services for people of all ages in Gloucestershire, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Roger Brimblecombe as Non-Executive Director, from June 2007.
Roger currently holds various Non-Executive Directorships, including Vertex Pharmaceuticals (US & Europe) and Tissue Science Laboratories Ltd. From 1982-1990 he was Chairman of Smith Kline & French Research Ltd. Until January of this year he was Chairman and CEO of , pSivida Ltd (Australia and US) a global biopharmaceutical company. He was also a member of the Corporate Management Committee for SmithKline Corporation. He has served on Boards of 20 companies in his career, in many as a member of the audit committee.
Roger has also served on the Council of the Royal College of Pathologists and the Institute of Biology. He has been President of one of the sections of the Royal Society of Medicine and a member of the Central Blood Laboratory Authority. He began his career working in the research department of Bristol Mental Hospitals and has a longstanding commitment to mental health.

Roger has been appointed for a four year term from 1st June 2007 to 31st May 2011. The post includes remuneration of £5,800 per annum, the current rate for all non-executive members of NHS trusts.
