Carers Rights & Information Day - 7th December 2007
23/112007
Carers Rights Day is a National Event sponsored by Carers UK designed to increase awareness of the resources and opportunities that are available to carers.
Mental Health carers in Gloucestershire can find out more about their rights as carers and how to access support by attending a special Carers Rights Day event organised by Gemma Piper-Griffiths. Gemma a staff nurse on Priory Ward at Wotton Lawn Hospital hopes that relatives, partners or friends who provide help and support to someone with mental illness will come along to the event.
Kathy Holmes, Carer Participation Worker for the Trust says: “This is the perfect opportunity for carers in the local community to come together, meet people in similar situations to themselves and share experiences and advice. Most importantly, we want to make mental health carers in Gloucestershire aware of the support and services that are available locally and ensure they know they never have to suffer in silence.”
