Mental health trust staff honoured in long-service awards

2000 years of long service in the NHS was celebrated last Thursday, as employees of Gloucestershire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust received their awards for long service.
Staff who work for Gloucestershire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and have worked in the NHS for 20 and 30 years, received a small gift and were presented with a framed certificate by Robert Maxwell, Chairman. Over 70 staff attended the evening ceremony.
The long-serving members of staff, their friends, families and senior members of the Trust joined in the celebration at the event which was held at Cheltenham Racecourse.
Kay, Harrison, Director of Human Resources, said, “We wanted to acknowledge the huge and long-standing contribution this group of staff have made. They have amassed a wealth of experience and skills and we wanted to let them know that we value their loyalty and commitment to the NHS and to mental health services in Gloucestershire.”
Shaun Clee, Chief Executive, said “The evening was a great opportunity to celebrate and say a big thank you to the staff and to their families and friends who have supported them.
“We recognise that our staff are the key factor in the success of the organisation, and the continuous development and improvement of services could not be achieved without their talent, experience and commitment.
Speaking after the ceremony, Marianne Bubb-McGhee, who is currently Matron in the Prison Healthcare Service said ; “The evening was wonderful. It was great to catch up with people I haven’t seen for a few years.
“The NHS is an ever evolving service and will continue to change and evolve as research, evidence and the general public demand it to.
“I have loved working for the NHS and hope to continue to do so for the rest of my career. I find my career as exciting, demanding and challenging as the day I started.”
