Health and Overview Committee refers centralisation of older people's inpatient services to Secretary of State

Gloucestershire County Council’s Health and Overview Committee has today decided to refer Gloucestershire Partnership NHS Trust’s decision to centralise older people’s mental health inpatient services to the Secretary of State for Health.
Commenting on the decision, Andrew Casey, Interim Chief Executive said:
“We will need to consider carefully the basis for the HOSC’s referral today. Although disappointed with the conclusion reached, we understand the HOSC’s position. As a Board we will consider the decision of the HOSC at our next meeting on the 16 November 2006.”
